THE POVERTY STOPLIGHT
The Stoplight for Community Development is a Programme which replicates de methodology of the Poverty Stoplight born in Paraguay in the NGO Fundación Paraguaya. This strategy makes the poverty of families “visible” by dividing the model into 50 indicators.
As the name suggests, the tool uses stoplight colors: Red (for Extremely Poor), Yellow (for Poor), Green (for Not Poor), as well as photographs, maps, tablets, and a visual survey to create innovative plans that enable the poor communities to better understand and visualize the ways in which they are affected by poverty and gives them a methodology and the tools to overcome their poverty together with their community who share the reds and yellows.
A civil society organization, which is our partner in the area, can work and supplement its programmes with the information obtained with the result of this analysis in order to optimize its actions.
